All HUG kitties have been tested for FIV/FeLV, had their initial vaccinations, have been spayed/neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting a cat or kitten from HUG, click on the adopt button. You will be prompted to fill out an online adoption form. Please complete the form and wait to hear back from us. We will review your application and get back to you as soon as possible. If there's a purrfect match we always deliver our kitties to their new homes. HUG is a nonprofit organization. We do not ask for a fee. Donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.

Henry
Hi, my name is Henry! I’m a big, lovable, 2-year-old neutered boy with a heart as soft as my fur. I recently survived a devastating house fire, which sadly left my owner unable to rebuild. I was scared and alone, wandering outside until someone kindly rescued me. Even though I’ve faced some tough times, I’ve never stopped being a gentle sweetheart. I crave snuggles, adore being petted, and will happily nuzzle your legs just to say, “I love you!” Bring out a few toys and you’ll see my inner kitten bounce right back—playtime is the best part of my day! I’m a total foodie and would be happiest as your one-and-only furry friend. I’m fully vaccinated and currently safe in foster care, but what I really dream about is a loving furever family. You should know I’m FIV positive, but please don’t worry! It just means my immune system needs a little extra TLC, and with good care, I can live a long, happy life full of cuddles and purrs. My wonderful foster family is happy to answer any questions you might have about me. If you live in Nassau or Suffolk County and would like to give this sweet survivor a second chance, please click the Adopt Me button and complete HUG’s online form.

Maxine & Matilda
Maxine and Matilda are unbelievably precious! These adorable sisters were rescued as tiny kittens by a HUG member. They were nurtured and loved, as only HUG can do. They love to play, run around, nap, and be cuddled on your lap. This sibling pair love each other deeply so they cannot be separated. Having a furry companion helps kitties thrive. If you live in Nassau County and want to adopt these bonded girls, just click the adopt button and complete our online form. Your application will be forwarded to the HUG member that rescued Maxine and Matilda.

Bonsai
Meet four adorable orange kittens who were saved by a caring park ranger and named after leafy trees—Maple, Willow, Bonsai, and London! This little girl is Bonsai. This bouncy bunch is eager to put down roots in new loving homes, and they’re excited to be adopted in pairs or join a family where a young kitten buddy is waiting to play! Kittens thrive with a playmate by their side—it means double the fun, extra purrs, and way less mischief! If you live in Nassau, Queens, or Suffolk County and are ready for double (or quadruple!) the fun, just click the Adopt Me button and complete HUG’s online application!
