All HUG kitties have been tested for FIV/FeLV, had their initial vaccinations, have been spayed/neutered and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting a cat or kitten from HUG, click on the adopt button. You will be prompted to fill out an online adoption form. Please complete the form and wait to hear back from us. We will review your application and get back to you as soon as possible. Then you can come to meet our kitties at our vets office in New Hyde Park. If there's a purrfect match we always deliver our kitties to their new homes. HUG is a nonprofit organization. We do not ask for a fee. Donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.

Debbie

Wanted: My Forever Home. My name is Debbie and I am a little girl who is about 2 years old. I would love a forever home with parents who understand cats and are very patient. I currently live with another cat who does not like me and picks on me. I need a quiet home and be the only child. I am very sweet and have lots of love to give, but I am very shy when I first meet new people. That’s why my new mom or dad would be best off being experienced cat parents who would be patient and loving with me. I like to be petted and would like you to talk to me and spend time with me. It will take time for me to feel secure and feel safe enough for me to sit on your lap. I am very tired of being nervous because of the other cat. At times, I think he just wants to play, but him being a boy, he plays rough. If you are looking for unconditional love and have room in your heart and for me, please click the “Adopt Me” button and HUG will respond to you in two shakes of a cat's paw. I promise I will return your love 100 times over!

Mickey

Mickey is a sweet girl who is a little shy. She was rescued and nurtured by HUG and now she is ready for her furever home. While studying at the renowned “HUG Academy,” Mickey met Buzz Lightyear and they became best friends. They are deeply attached and need to be adopted together. Mickey is very affectionate and loves to cuddle. Kittens are mischievous by nature and having a playmate keeps them out of trouble! HUG would prefer to adopt to someone that lives locally in Nassau County or in Queens. If you have love to give and want to share your heart and home with two adorable, loving and playful kitties, Buzz and Mickey, please click the Adopt Me button and HUG will respond in two shakes of cats paw.

Buzz Lightyear

Buzz Lightyear is a brown tabby boy found strutting around the Parkwood Pool in Great Neck. Some kind folks took a fancy to this bundle of furry cuteness and began feeding him regularly. One day someone had the good sense to call HUG and Buzz was rescued in record time. Buzz is a real gentleman and he is ready for his loving furever home. He is super cute, sweet as can be, and extremely playful. In short, Buzz is an absolute treasure! While at the “HUG Academy,” Buzz met a real sweetheart of a kitty named Mickey. Mickey is an adorable little girl that just adores Buzz. They are deeply bonded so they must be adopted together. Kittens are mischievous by nature and having a playmate keeps them out of trouble! HUG would prefer to adopt to someone that lives locally in Nassau County or in Queens. If you have love in your heart and want to share your home with Buzz and Mickey, please click the Adopt Me button and HUG will respond in two flicks of a cat’s tail!
